Q. How much do Accent metal doors weigh?
A. A 3080 model single door can weigh nearly 350 pounds including the door jamb. Double doors with sidelights and transoms can weigh much more. All our metal doors are palletized for safe delivery. Installers should arrange for additional manpower or a forklift at the time of delivery.
Q. Are your metal doors hard to open?
A. No, because the roller bearing hinges on the metal doors are engineered for easy operation and superior structural performance.
Q. Are your metal doors pre-hung?
A. Yes, our metal doors come pre-hung in their own 14 gauge steel jamb. A few designs require assembly.
Q. Are all metal doors weather-stripped?
A. Accent uses only Pemko® weather stripping products. Compression seals are used in all critical areas of the door that are prone to wear. The use of such materials in strategic areas assures longevity of superior performance.
Q. Are Accent metal doors insulated?
A. We insulate all our door products. Each cavity is filled to capacity with top quality materials and then trimmed clean for installation.
Q. Is glass included on Accent metal doors?
A. We do not offer glass. Glass does not ship well, especially large spans and insulated units. In addition, should there ever be failure, a local company who could provide and service any warranty issues would better serve your interests.
Q. What about door hardware and locks for the metal doors?
A. Accent metal doors are shipped with all installation hardware. Locking hardware can be provided upon request for an additional charge. Please specify by manufacturer, model and color when ordering.
Q. How do your products perform in wet climates?
A. Very well. Iron doors and jambs out perform wood doors due the natural make up of both products. Woods can split, crack, warp, swell and must be refinished on a regular basis to maintain its performance. Iron doors have none of these problems and are inherently more secure. Iron and steel keep their original shape and function without the inherent problems typically found with wood products.
